You can count the number of head lacrosse coaches at Hobart College on one hand. The fifth person to guide the fortunes of The Statesman is William “B.J.” O’Hara, coach of the reigning Division III National Champions.

A Hobart graduate (1975), B.J. was a two-time All-American selection as a player. As an assistant coach, he helped Hobart and Dave Urick land five Division III titles between 1982 and 1986. B.J. captained his team his senior year and contributed to USILA efforts in 1972 and 1975.

O’Hara holds a masters degree in educational psychology and counseling from Slippery Rock. He began his coaching career at West Genesee High School where he starred in lacrosse and soccer. He later coached men’s lacrosse and women’s soccer at Dartmouth.
