Thomas Nims
As a starting goalie of the 1979 and 1980 seasons, with a 70% save average for the West Genesee Wildcats. Nims was an All-League, All-American, team captain, and finally MVP for the 1980 All-Star game, his senior year at West Genesee.
Nims was selected by the West Genesee coaching staff as “Outstanding Senior Athlete” and led the Wildcats to League, Sectional, and Upstate Championships. Nims lost only 2 games as a starting goalie, going 20-1 in 1979 and 21-1 in 1980.

At Syracuse University, Nims was a 2-time All-American who ranks third on the all-time career saves list with a save percentage of .692. Nims is also ranked second on Syracuse University’s all-time saves list, recording a save percentage of .674. His 267 saves during the 1985 season rank second all-time for a single season. Nims was also a member of the 1983 NCAA National Championship team.
After his college career, Nims was an assistant coach at Watertown IHC, founded the Watertown Lacrosse Club, and held numerous camps for Watertown area players.
Nims was also inducted into the Camillus/West Genesee Community Hall of Fame in 2014.
Nims passed away in 1993 and will be inducted by his son, Kenny. Nims is survived by his parents, Dave and Carol Nims, siblings Alyssa Geiger and Susan Bell, his wife Julie, and his children, Kenny and Taylor, who both played lacrosse at Syracuse University.
