Early Athletic Achievements

Streeten’s athletic prowess was evident from an early age. At Nottingham High School, he earned All-American honors in lacrosse and was also named to the All-League football team, establishing himself as a multi-sport standout.

He continued his athletic career at Hobart College, where he was a four-year varsity lacrosse standout from 1974 to 1977. During his tenure, Streeten played on two Division III National Championship teams and contributed to two additional national finalist teams. Academically, he earned a B.S. in Psychology from Hobart and later completed an M.S. in Social Science Education at Syracuse University.

Coaching Career

Streeten transitioned seamlessly from player to coach, beginning at Nottingham High School (1977–1978), where he coached football and junior varsity lacrosse. He then joined West Genesee High School (1980–1981), coaching junior varsity football and serving as an assistant coach on the school’s first State Championship football team.

In 1981, Streeten moved to Corning-Painted Post East High School, where he built one of the most dominant lacrosse programs in New York State history. From 1982 to 2004, he served as Varsity Lacrosse Coach, leading his teams to a staggering 413-72 record, 20 consecutive Section IV titles, a 1990 State Championship, and nine trips to the State finals. His leadership also extended to the Empire State Games, coaching the Western Team to medals and earning five Coach of the Year honors. Under his guidance, 73 players advanced to Division I lacrosse, and he coached 18 high school All-Americans and 23 college All-Americans.

Alongside his coaching career, Streeten has been a dedicated history teacher at Corning-Painted Post East High School since 1981, shaping both minds and character.
