An All-American attackman for Syracuse University in 1957 and 1958, “Slugger” followed in his father’s footsteps, coaching the freshman team at Syracuse University after graduating in 1959, and subsequently assuming the head coaching reins from his dad in 1970. One of the game’s greatest coaches, he’s compiled a 192-75 record while at Syracuse, traveling to the NCAA Final Four the past nine years, winning the National Championship four times.
