A 1954 graduate of Syracuse University, Bob “Puffy” Sager played both lacrosse and basketball for the Orange. He was a founder and former president of the Syracuse Lacrosse Club. Under Coach Roy Simmons, Sr., Bob played defense then later switched to attack. Soon after college, he started an outstanding career as a lacrosse official and called hundreds of high school and college games. He was also active in Sherman Park football, was president of the Central New York Lacrosse Officials Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Midstate Youth Hockey Association. He was also a founding member of the CNY High School Lacrosse Officials Association. He was a professional mortgage banker.
