Meghan Burnett stands as one of the most decorated lacrosse players in Central New York history. A three-time First Team High School All-American from 1997 to 1999, she was named Central New York Player of the Year in 1999 and received numerous honors, including the Bob Dean Award, Hank Vetter Award, and WSYR Channel 9 Athlete of the Week. Meghan was also selected to play in the prestigious National High School All-American North/South Game in 1999.

Throughout her high school career, Meghan earned First Team All-League honors all four years, was a four-time First Team All-Central New York selection, and led the region in goals for three seasons. She finished with an incredible career total of 331 goals and 58 assists — averaging over 80 goals per year — making her the leading goal scorer in Auburn Women’s Lacrosse history.

A standout beyond the local level, Meghan was a three-year member of the New York State Team at the National Girls Lacrosse Tournament and played four years on the CNY Empire Team. Her excellence was later recognized when she was named to the Half Century CNY Women’s Lacrosse Team in 2000 and the 100 Best Auburn Athletes in 2010.

Meghan made history as the first woman from Auburn to receive a full athletic scholarship to Johns Hopkins University, where she was a four-year starter and team captain. She recorded 95 goals and 46 assists (141 points) during her collegiate career. At Hopkins, Meghan was a three-time American Lacrosse League All-League Selection for both athletic and academic achievements. She earned several prestigious team honors, including Rookie of the Year, Outstanding Attack Player, and the Henry Ciccarone Scholarship Award.
