From the first moment Charlie Lockwood picked up a lacrosse stick, it was evident that he would be a champion.

In 1989, Charlie led the Central team to the Gold Medal in the Empire State Games. High school – West Genesee, of course – saw Charlie earn All-American honors, the state championship, and MVP honors in 1990.

On to OrangeLand and four years an All-American, including the 1993 national championship. That was also the year he was named Syracuse University Athlete of the Year. At SU he scored 97 goals and 55 assists. Charlie also was a member of Team USA in 1994 and 1998, the years our country’s stickmen won world titles.

In 1995, Charlie was Major League Lacrosse’s Rookie of the Year.

Charlie remains active in the sport and serves on the Board of Directors of the Upstate Chapter of US Lacrosse.

Charlie and his wife, Kristin, have four youngsters – Olivia, Charlie, Luke and Reed. They live in Onondaga Hill. Charlie is employed by Jarden Team Sports. He is a sales representative for deBeer-Gait Lacrosse and is active on the Board of our Upstate Chapter of US Lacrosse.
