Bob Shaw – 2023 USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame Inductee

Growing up in LaFayette, New York, Bob Shaw gravitated to sports early in life. After all, both of his parents were physical education professionals, and that influence helped shape his youth. It also didn’t hurt that his dad worked at Syracuse University, and Shaw was routinely on campus to witness, first-hand, the athletic exploits of players like Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Larry Csonka.

2023 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Upstate Lacrosse Foundation, Inc. inducted seven local lacrosse legends and one team at the 2023 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony dinner on Sunday, October 22 at Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse. It was the twenty-fourth induction class for the Hall of Fame, and the third under this new Foundation, bringing the total count to 155 individuals, 6 teams, and 3 contributors. These individuals, now inducted, will be eligible for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The inductees included Shannon Burke, Robert Carpenter, Todd Cavallaro, Tiffany (Hill) Checca, Spike Decker, Walt Eccles, Jim Gonnella, Larry Hart, Sid Hill, Kristin St. Hilaire, David P. White, and Bruce Yancey.

2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Upstate Lacrosse Foundation, Inc. inducted seven local lacrosse legends and one team at the 2022 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony dinner held on Sunday, October 16th at Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse. It was the twenty-third induction class for the Hall of Fame, and the third under this new Foundation, bringing the total count to 143 individuals, six teams, and three contributors. These individuals, now inducted, are eligible for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The inductees included Erica Bamford (LaGrow), Mike DeMaria,
Kyle Guadagnolo, Jeremy Hollenbeck, Kevin Martin, Brandon Spillett,
Lyle Thompson, and Eric Ungleich.

2021 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Upstate Lacrosse Foundation, Inc. inducted seven local lacrosse legends and one team at the 2021 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony dinner held on Sunday, October 17th at Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse. It was the twenty-second induction class for the Hall of Fame, and the second under this new Foundation, bringing the total count to 135 individuals, six teams, and three contributors. These individuals, now inducted, are eligible for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The inductees included Matt Abbott, Brett Bucktooth, Josh Dennis, Tom Grimaldi, Beth (Ames) Hewitt, Dick Pepper, Carl “Ket” Weist, and the 1971 Cornell Men’s Team.
